Matteo Unich


Born in 1961, Matteo Unich graduated in trombone in 1982 at the “G. B. Martini ”of Bologna, after having obtained the diploma of Business Expert and correspondent in foreign languages. Even before obtaining the solfeggio license he begins, in an absolutely random way, to direct choirs, then training with different masters such as Adone Zecchi, Bruno Zagni, Enrico Volontieri and attending a course of M ° Walter Marzilli at the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music. . He then follows a conducting seminar with Maestro Piero Bellugi. He also studies opera singing with various teachers.

His conducting activity ranges from sacred and liturgical music, both a cappella and concertante, to choral folk music a cappella, in particular with the thirty-year direction of the choir of the Canterini Romagnoli of Ravenna "Pratella - Martuzzi", at the helm of which he produced in hundreds of concerts both in Italy and abroad and recorded two CDs. Also noteworthy is the activity in the choral opera, as founder and director, for almost twenty years, of the opera choir "R. Calamosca "of Ravenna, holding with it dozens of concerts and participating in the operas" Nabucco "by G. Verdi and" Turandot "by G. Puccini, both in Cesena and directed by Maestro Paolo Olmi, and as director of the opera choir for a few years "M. Alboni "in Cesena, with whom he participated in some complete operas in scenic form:" Cavalleria Rusticana "by P. Mascagni," Rigoletto "by G. Verdi (in which he also held a supporting role, as well as directing the choir ), Carmen by G. Bizet.

Matteo Unich is also a music teacher in lower secondary schools, and has held vocal and gestural lessons in various courses organized by AERCO. He was also a member of the Artistic Commission for nine years, and vice president for three. At the moment he directs the Canterini Romagnoli of Ravenna, the “Casa della carità” choir of Lugo (mixed sacred and operatic repertoire) and is choirmaster at the parish of Barbiano (RA).
