He completed his musical studies at the ‘A. Boito’ Conservatory of Parma graduating in violin; he studied at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena with Salvatore Accardo. After winning the violin competition in the ‘Toscanini Orchestra’, he held this position for more than four years, then abandoning it in order to devote himself more freely to chamber music. He also collaborates with the most prestigious chamber groups: Carme in Milan, Gruppo Musica Insieme in Cremona, I Solisti Veneti, Orchestra of the AB Michelangeli Festival in Brescia, Chamber Orchestra of Mantua, Italians Soloists, carrying out intense activities in Italy and abroad. He was a violin teacher at the ‘A. Boito’ of Parma. Since the 1970s, he has also dedicated himself to the study of choral singing and ethnomusicological research, also participating in national conferences about popular music as a speaker, and in the jury at the International Choral Competition ‘C. A. Seghizzi’of Gorizia. He systematically holds courses for choristers and young choir conductors. In 1978 he founded the Montecastello Choir in Neviano Arduini, later moved to Parma, for which he wrote songs for its repertoire. Many choirs have drawn from this repertoire and in several schools these melodies are sung by children.
